B CORP MONTH: Reflecting On A Year Of Impact
March marks B Corp month, a time when certified B Corporations around the world come together to celebrate what it means to use business as a force for good.
In recognition of B Corp month, we’re taking a moment to reflect on some of our achievements from the last 12 months.
While we remain on the journey toward our ambitious sustainability goals, 2025 was a year of meaningful progress across our Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) space.
Take a look at some of our 2025 highlights:
- 75% of our apparel and accessories now contain preferred fibre materials (target: 100% by 2030)
- 47% of wetsuit range produced for FY25 contained materials like Bio Based rubber (target: 75% by 2030).
- 81% of our cotton production was sourced through preferred initiatives such as Better Cotton and certified Organic feedstock.
- We introduced our latest development OCENA rubber, used exclusively for E-Bomb and Dawn Patrol wetsuits
- Celebrated 25 years of Rip Curl Planet Day
- Reached milestone of 64,000 wetsuits recycled across Australia, the USA, Spain, Portugal, and France
- Wetsuit repairs offered on-site at the MEO Rip Curl Pro in Peniche, Portugal
- Recycled 1,870 kilograms of textile waste from our head office through Upparel
- Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan endorsed by Reconciliation Australia
- Continued support for key charity partners SurfAid and Surfrider Foundation
- Primary partner of Surf Aid’s ‘Make a Wave’ Challenge, raising vital funds for surf communities
- Consulted over 6,600 factory workers to understand the working conditions of people making Rip Curl products

- Winner of the 2025 Australian Fashion Industry Awards for Sustainability Excellence
“Taking the time to reflect on what we’ve achieved in the past 12 months makes me feel really proud,” said Ashley Reade, Rip Curl CEO. “While there’s still work to do, we’re making meaningful progress in important areas. Celebrating 25 years of Rip Curl Planet Day was a real highlight, giving back to the coastlines in which we work and surf.”
In 2026 Rip Curl will be recertifying as a B Corp under the new B Lab Standards V2, requiring businesses to take meaningful action across seven key social, environmental, and governance Impact Topic areas.
