The Laureus World Sports Awards is an annual prestigious ceremony in which outstanding individuals and teams from the world of sport are celebrated for their achievements throughout the year. Since its inception in 1999, it has become recognised as one of the most respected and valued awards in the sporting world – and to be nominated is an achievement in itself.
This year we are happy to announce that 2x and current World Champion Tyler Wright is nominated, for the second consecutive year.
Over the years the Laureus Awards have had keynote speakers the likes of Nelson Mandela, award winners like Olympic Champion Usain Bolt, and tennis legend Roger Federer.
This year we are happy to announce that 2x and current World Champion Tyler Wright is nominated, for the second consecutive year, for the World Action Sportsperson Of The Year Award. Over the past two decades the award has been claimed by the likes of Kelly Slater, Layne Beachley and Stephanie Gilmore. A prestigious list of names to join, to be sure.
The winners of the Laureus Awards will be voted for by the members of the Laureus World Sports Academy, and will be revealed in Monaco on February 27th. Follow #Laureus18 on social media to stay up to date with who’s nominated, and any other news around Tyler and her nomination in the lead-up to the ceremony.
Good luck Tyler Wright!
